Lorenia Foster

Basically an immigrant, Lorenia spent the beginning of her life in Mexico. She came from a single-mother household with a traditional Mexican background. As the oldest child, she by definition was forced to take on the role of caretaker for her younger brother. Worrying and overthinking became a necessity. In addition to growing up quickly, religion was a huge influence during her upbringing. The sum of religion and Mexican family culture led to a very verbal and psychologically abusive environment within the home. Having this environment during her childhood shaped all relationships moving forward. Unhealthy relationships led her down a path of depression, eating disorders and self-suppression. Ultimately, she found herself in a very unhealthy marriage. Being in that relationship became the push to free herself, which landed her in AZ. This is where the real shift in her life began.
